Marnie Butler Reviews The Melia Cozumel

A four star family-friendly resort in Mexico, located on one of the best beaches in the North Hotel Zone and across from a Jack Nicklaus-designed golf course.

After spending a fabulous week (November 23 - 29, 2019) at the Melia Cozumel Golf - All Inclusive I know you will like it here! AMAZING RESORT! I will be recommending this resort to all my clients.

It’s a great resort for families, couples, honeymoons, groups, destination weddings and friends getaways.

Everything went smoothly with the pick up at the airport. Our representative was there to greet us with vans available to take us directly to the Melia Cozumel. The transfer only took 15 minutes and we arrived to a wonderful view of the sea. We did arrive before the 3:00 pm check-in so our rooms were not ready but everyone was prepared with shorts and swimsuits to enjoy the resort immediately.

Food: Our first stop was the buffet for our lunch. WOW! All week long, the food was amazing, the a la carte restaurants, the buffet, the snack bar. I was very impressed with the red wine and my other friends said the white wine was just as nice. This resort offers premium brands which everyone enjoyed.

Staff: Right from day one the staff always greeted us with smiles, asked how you were, if you were enjoying your stay and if there was anything they could do for you. Marcos the head waiter was the best! He made sure our group was together in the a la carte restaurant and the buffet. We were celebrating two birthdays and he arranged for special cakes for each occasion.

Rooms: Ocean View Rooms in building B, three stories high and no elevators in this building. Garden View Rooms in building C, six stories high and elevators In this building.

Our room was beyond beautiful, we had an Ocean View Room on the ground floor that was steps away from the beach. The bed was so comfortable and the room was spotless. What I noticed most was no musty smell as you sometimes experience in the Caribbean.

Most of the group were in Ocean View Rooms and a few were in Garden View Rooms. Everyone was very satisfied with their room choices. No one had any issues with their rooms.

Public Washrooms: Always cleaned and well maintained.

Beach: WOW!! Great beach with white powdery sand and perfect for going for a nice walk.

The lounge chairs are awesome, they are metal with mesh seating. Very easy to get in and out of. Lots of shade and palapes. Bali beds are available to rent if you wish.

The sea was a little rough for me but most went swimming and said the snorkeling was the best they had ever experienced. On Saturday when we were leaving the sea was so calm. I definitely would have gone for a swim.

Miscellaneous Comments: I do recommend that everyone take along insect repellent as there are mosquitoes when outside in the evening.

Water shoes are recommended if you plan on going into the sea or even walking on the beach. The sand and the sea is lovely but I am always cautious about stepping on something. Why ruin your vacation with a cut foot.

Another great feature of this resort is that it is wheelchair friendly and easy to get around for anyone with knee issues like myself. Yes there are steps but they also have ramps. I loved the ramps, so easy to get everywhere I wanted to go.

The resort is smaller so not that much walking to get anywhere. It has two pools. One activity pool in front of the Garden View Rooms and the Adult only that has a swim up bar (yes that is where you could find me). The Adult only pool is just outside the main lobby and steps to the beach. It was so beautiful!

This resort has activities to keep you busy all day if you wish. They do have set times for beach volleyball, aqua fit, and the batting cage. You can play shuffleboard, darts, and mini golf at your leisure. My favorite activity was sitting at the swim up bar talking to new friends and socializing with my group.
